A minimum of three characters are required for the Surname. In Surname and Service Number use an asterisk (*) for wildcard searches. Army Service Corps Service Numbers can have a character prefix. Initials are searched for anywhere within the Initials field, there is no need to use an asterisk. In unit names prefixes such as "The", "HMS" and "Royal" have been omitted; therefore "Royal Horse Artillery" is "Horse Artillery, Royal" and "HMS Doris" is "Doris, HMS" in the dropdown list. If your search returns no result then try again using the wildcard asterisk (*) to remove vowels in the surname and in the service number the numbers 1,7,4, and 9 are often mis-written leading to errors.
